Vince Gill & Patty Loveless - Go Rest High On That Mountain [Live][George Jones’ Funeral]

“It’s my belief they don’t make those shoes anymore.” Amen, Vince. This performance broke my heart.

I started crying during this song and didn’t stop until the funeral was over.

Found Buck Owens’s Tall Dark Stranger music video on Youtube!

There is just so much goodness in it: Doyle Holly just staring at Buck the whole song, Don Rich taking his guitar picking seriously, The Hagers, Buddy Alan stealing Susan Raye from Buck, and the clapping at the end.

I don’t think this was made for Hee Haw or his Ranch shows. I could be wrong though.

Oh and is that Jay Dee Maness sitting directly below Don? He never looks toward the camera so I can’t tell if it’s him or Doyle Singer.

Well, damn. You think your heroes will live to be 100 years old. Not for them, but for you. You want to know they’ll be around as a reminder that everything’s OK.

Everything’s not OK today.

George Jones, you’re the greatest country music singer the world has ever known.

Rest in peace, Possum. Hope you’re not a No Show to the Pearly Gates.
